On Sunday 1 February there will be a new edition of Direct Dutch Filmclub with Dutch movie ‘Alles is familie’.
‘Alles is familie’ is the follow up to ‘Alles is liefde’. The cast consists of Holland’s finest actors, such as Carice van Houten, Thijs Römer and Martine Bijl. It was the most visited Dutch movie in 2012. The story is about a young and succesful couple, Rutmer and Winnie, who are unable to have kids of their own. Rutmer (Thijs Römer) decides to ask his brother Charlie to be the sperm donor. Charlie agrees. Rutmer finds a way to hide from Winnie that his brother is the donor. When Winnie (Carice van Houten) is pregnant she suddenly feels extremely attracted to Charlie…. How will this situation work out for everyone?
The movie is suitable for 12 +
Direct Dutch filmclub
Four times a year Dutch language school Direct Dutch Institute and Bibliotheek Den Haag, organise a filmclub with Dutch movies for internationals living in The Hague (and surroundings).
Since everybody is required to speak in simple Dutch (no English allowed), this is a great opportunity to actually speak Dutch! Of course there are teachers present who will help you with your Dutch.
In the course of the afternoon, we will watch the movie and discuss it in small groups, ending in a group discussion. Our programme is suitable for everyone with (at least) an elementary knowledge of Dutch who would like to engage in Dutch culture and build on his or her conversation skills in an informal and fun way.
