On Sunday 20 December there will be a new edition of Direct Dutch Filmclub with Dutch movie ‘Ja Zuster, Nee Zuster’.
Ja Zuster, Nee Zuster
A Dutch town in the sixties. Sister Klivia is in charge in the rest-home in the Primulastraat. The residents (the engineer, Jet, Bertus and Bobby) are making neighbour Barend Boordevol’s life miserable with their daily noice. He happens to be the owner of the building and tries all he can to have them removed out of the house.
The movie ‘Ja Zuster, Nee Zuster’ is based on the television series from 1966. It is one of the most famous Dutch television shows of all times. The original script was written by Annie M.G. Schmidt (Jip & Janneke, Pluk van de Petteflet).
Direct Dutch filmclub
Four times a year Dutch language school Direct Dutch Institute and Bibliotheek Den Haag, organise a filmclub with Dutch movies for internationals living in The Hague (and surroundings).
Since everybody is required to speak in simple Dutch (no English allowed), this is a great opportunity to actually speak Dutch! Of course there are teachers present who will help you with your Dutch.
In the course of the afternoon, we will watch the movie and discuss it in small groups, ending in a group discussion. Our programme is suitable for everyone with (at least) an elementary knowledge of Dutch who would like to engage in Dutch culture and build on his or her conversation skills in an informal and fun way.
