Filmclub Sunday January 28

Are you looking for an entertaining opportunity to practise your Dutch?

On Sunday January 28 there will be a new edition of our filmclub. We will be watching Dutch movie ‘Moos’! Our program is in Dutch and is suitable for everyone with (at least) an elementary knowledge of Dutch (A1/A2).

The filmclub is organised by Direct Dutch Institute and Public Library The Hague. For more information, see below.

Watch the trailer of Moos here (during the filmclub the movie will have Dutch subtitles)

‘Moos’ is a lovely Dutch movie about a young Jewish girl called Moos. Moos is leading a somewhat boring life, she helps around the house and in her father’s textile shop. One day she decides to go to theatre school. Her father isn’t exactly supportive of this idea. Moos is determined to go for it, but the road won’t be exactly easy.

Four times a year Dutch language school Direct Dutch Institute and Bibliotheek Den Haag, organise a filmclub with Dutch movies for internationals living in The Hague (and surroundings).

Since everybody is required to speak in simple Dutch (no English allowed), this is a great opportunity to actually speak Dutch! Of course there are teachers present who will help you with your Dutch.

In the course of the afternoon, we will watch the movie and discuss it in small groups, ending in a group discussion. Our program is suitable for everyone with (at least) an elementary knowledge of Dutch (A1/A2) who would like to engage in Dutch culture and build on his or her conversation skills in an informal and fun way.
