Terug naar de kust (2009, Will Koopman)
‘Terug naar de kust’ is based on the eponymous novel by Dutch author Saskia Noort. When Maria (Linda de Mol) finds out she’s pregnant with her third child, she decides to have an abortion. Much against the father’s will. After the even she receives threatening letters and she and her kids have to move to her sister’s house for safety. There she is confronted with many ghosts from the past. Maria starts to have blackouts and has no idea who to trust anymore.
Filmclub
Four times a year Dutch language school Direct Dutch Institute and Bibliotheek Den Haag, organise a filmclub with Dutch movies for internationals living in The Hague (and surroundings).
Since everybody is required to speak in simple Dutch (no English allowed), this is a great opportunity to actually speak Dutch! Of course there are teachers present who will help you with your Dutch.
In the course of the afternoon, we will watch the movie and discuss it in small groups, ending in a group discussion. Our program is suitable for everyone with (at least) an elementary knowledge of Dutch (A1/A2) who would like to engage in Dutch culture and build on his or her conversation skills in an informal and fun way.
The filmclub is organised by Direct Dutch Institute and Public Library The Hague.Â
