Since our establishment in 1985, Direct Dutch has specialized in Dutch courses for expatriates living and working in the Netherlands. We home our students in on Holland: by teaching them Dutch, we help them to feel at home here and settle in their new surroundings.
As an employer, you are aware of the fact that your foreign employees function better when they feel at home in their new country. At Direct Dutch, we believe that the best way to assimilate to a new culture, is to learn its language. Besides, we think that the best way to learn a language is to actually use it. Therefore, all our courses focus on communication and are taught in Dutch from the very lesson onwards.

The Direct Dutch formula is based on the recognition that it is difficult to separate a language from its culture. Therefore, we pay a lot of attention to Dutch culture and customs throughout our courses. For instance, both beginners courses (0 – A2 CEF) include a series of 12 short talks on aspects of Dutch society such as history, geography, politics, arts and media.

Tailor-made programme

Of course, different companies have different needs. For some companies a regular beginners course may be enough to help their international employees feel more at home in their new country. Others might want to invest in a longer track, guiding their employees towards the official NT2 state exam with a special focus on, for instance, medical terminology. At Direct Dutch, we are happy to adapt our programme to suit the specific linguistic, or cultural needs of your company, or sector. Next to our standard language courses, we offer a number of special modules that help your employees to work in the Netherlands (and in Dutch) effectively.

In-company training

Direct Dutch offers business courses to accommodate companies which prefer to have Dutch lessons on site. It is no problem to adjust the size of the groups, the frequency of the lessons and their length to suit the needs and requirements of the employees. This has enabled busy business men and women interested in learning the Dutch language and culture to enjoy and successfully complete our courses.
