General conditions

General
Participants of Beginners A1 and A2 courses should be able to speak English.

Price
The course fee applicable is the one listed on the website at the time of registration. Course materials are included in the course fee, unless stated otherwise.
Our courses are exempt from VAT.

Confirmation
To complete their registration, the participant is required to confirm their participation before the deadline specified in the ´Course reserved´ email. Up to this date enrolments can be cancelled or postponed without charge. Direct Dutch reserves the right to cancel the course if there are less than four confirmed participants two weeks before the start of the course.

Payment
Direct Dutch will send out an invoice two weeks before the starting date of the course. The course fee is due before the commencement of the course. It is possible to pay by bank transfer, or at the desk (cash and pin).
If the course participant fails to meet financial requirements, the invoice will be handed over to a debt collecting agency.

Homework
Course participants are required to spend about five hours per week on their homework.

Missing lessons
Course participants should be present during all lessons. Direct Dutch has no obligation to compensate for missed lessons.

Refunds
Once a course has been confirmed, it can only be cancelled in writing (letter or e-mail). In case of cancellation up to one week before commencement of the course, the course participant will receive an invoice for EURO 50,00 (registration and administration costs). In case of cancellation within one week of commencement of the course, 50% of the course fee is payable. The course fee remains payable in full, even in case of non attendance or dropping out during the course.
The course can only be taken by the undersigned. Lessons are not transferable to someone else.

Time for reflection
After confirmation of your registration you are given a maximum of seven working days to think the matter over. If the course starts before these seven working days are over, your time for reflection is until the starting date of the course.

Complaints policy and procedure
A customer who is dissatisfied with our service should contact the managing director of Direct Dutch, dr Ruud Hisgen by phone, mail or in writing.

Dr Hisgen will do everything to resolve the problem immediately. However, if a complaint cannot be resolved by him, the complainant may inform our independent mediator, Mr J.E.C. van Arkel AA. The mediator can be reached at this mail address: jecvanarkel@hotmail.com. All complaints will be dealt with confidentially by the mediator. The mediator will consider the evidence in strict confidence and within a period of 28 working days he will give an absolute judgment, of which the consequences will be promptly settled by the institute.
